Charcoal on paper. I purchased a small 3D model to help me learn how to draw facial features better. After this drawing, I used marker to add lines to the model to help make the geometry more obvious. I’m still struggling with the far side of the mouth, though. I love the look of compressed charcoal, which I used on the mouth, but I switched to willow charcoal for the eye (on watercolor paper).
