Gouache on paper. This one went through several iterations before I landed on a this impressionist-style with gouache paint. My original intent was to do watercolor pencils after using a grid to draw from a reference photo I staged and shot. Spent a solid week drawing and on the initial color (including trying alcohol markers), then finally just went nuts for an hour or so with the final paint. I think I took a few elements too far when trying to touch them up (i.e., the hourglass), but overall, I like the lighting and composition. I’m tempted to start over and attempt something neater, but not sure I have the patience to draw it all again.
